At the regional level,  SEAMEO BIOTROP has organized the Third Regional Training Course on Prevention and Control of Mycotoxins  in Food and Feed staff. In addition, the first SEAMEO BIOTROP in-country Training Course on Tissue Culture Technology for Plant Propagation and Nursery Management  was held in Lao PDR. This activity was held in cooperation with the Lao National Agriculture and Forestry Research  Institute.  Networking  with other institutions is the key factor for the success of the Center’s program. At national level, SEAMEO BIOTROP has conducted a Training Course on Validation and Verification Methods of Chemical Testing.

Together with the Indonesian Biotechnology Information Center (IndoBIC), SEAMEO BIOTROP has conducted two workshops.  They were : the First Workshop on Communicating Food Science directed to the media people;  and the Second Workshop on    Communicating Agricultural Biotechnology designed for researchers , government officials and industry people.
Mr. Harry Imantho, MSc. , Manager of KM Department of SEAMEO BIOTROP , has attended the Regional Consultation Workshop on the SEAMEO Database on Education held on 8 – 9 May 2013,   Bangkok, Thailand. He delivered his paper on System and         Architecture of SEAMEO Database on Education.

Dr. Katja Rembold post doctorate fellow with 2 other students from Gottingen University, Germany have spent their time at SEAMEO BIOTROP herbarium to identify specimens collected from rubber and oil palm plantations in Jambi, Sumatra in cooperation with Dr. Sri S. Tjitrosoedirdjo, SEAMEO BIOTROP Senior Scientist.
